FODMAP Friendly

We hear you saying, “what the fodmap are they on about?”
Broth of Life’s FODMAP Friendly Bone Broth is wonderful for those who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
The acronym itself and the carbohydrates that are restricted in a low FODMAP diet are;
Fermentable – meaning they are broken down by bacteria in the large bowel
Oligosaccharides – meaning few sugars
Disaccharides – This is a double sugar molecule.
Monosaccharides – This is a single-sugar molecule.
And
Polyols – these are sugar alcohols
All of the items within this acronym are to be avoided as they are poorly absorbed in the small intestine and can cause symptoms such as wind, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea and changes in bowel habits.  A Low FODMAP Diet or FODMAP Friendly diet will reduce symptoms of fatigue, lethargy and poor concentration. The ingredients in our FODMAP Friendly bone broth have been specifically chosen to comply with the FODMAP diet.
